Green Man Fayre was held over a three day weekend in Suffolk, mid August 2008. Now with a new name; Harlequin Fayre happens in August.
Keeping it small made for some challenges but really helped keep the weekend such a family friendly event, while the activities, stalls, local organic beers, campfires, cabaret & bands all shaped the event.
The main thinking behind the weekend was to have 500 people enjoying good company with kids and friends, with great things to do, top class acts to see and a variety of people to meet. The site was powered by solar wherever possible. The main stage was big enough to need to be run off mains power. The site decor had a lot of attention, and the location helped with the feel of the weekend, as did the large number of children who were present. The site crew, stewards and security were brilliant, as was the feedback. Somehow it all got written up in the Observer!
Big Big Thanks go out to all 500 people - everyone played their part and made it a great time for all.
