Crew & Stewards

For Harlequin Fayre to run smoothly we have a large number of crew. Roles are diverse, easy-going and limited. Crew get fed every day they help out, and only about a quarter of crew are on duty at any one time, so it's a great way to get into the event for free and get involved.

If this might suit you get in touch (see below) to check availablity and have a quick chat - anyone with a smile can do it. Booking a crew place can be done either online or with the Crew Booking Form. Crew money is reimbursed at the end of the Event.
     
       
   

Crew will be on site for longer than the duration of the event. Arrive for lunch and training sessions relating to the event and general health and safety. We'll all be working together, so time to meet each other is pretty essential - all stewards are welcome at the Make It Days. Training and visi vests are provided. Crew food is in the form of one very good meal a day.

Roles could include; creating a fun and safe site for the event, helping people to camp in the right places, painting signs, putting up flags, checking lights are working, digging holes, filling them in again! radio use here there and everywhere, serving drinks, issuing wristbands, selling raffle tickets, working the mobile bar, sitting by the fire, counting crowds, being seen and being there to help, having fun. There'll be about twice as many stewards as are needed, to help the whole field stay relaxed and light and make sure nobody feels overworked! Crew and stewards, as ever, will probably end up in the best costumes.

The roles are not overly demanding and will not include any potentially violent security issues, though people with SIA qualifications are also sought for a seperate team - do get in touch.

Team Build It : (NO SPACES) from Monday 9th Aug, Leave 18th Aug. Build up, takedown. Involves some lifting, hammering, building, climbing, decorating, fencing. Build and test the bar! Team Build It are off-duty during the event. Takedown should be complete before the 18th, but Team Build It need to be ready to be on site until then, in case.

All Other Roles (A few spaces remain) (Event Stewards, Night Crew, Green Stewards, Bar Crew, Gate Crew): Arrive by 12noon Thursday 12 Aug, and leave from 2pm Monday 16 Aug. During the event commit four hours a day of walking round, helping out or whatever the role is. You will be very welcome if you arrive or stay longer.

To book a place first contact Sam in office hours ~ 07876 622422, 01379 741435, sam@medleyproductions.co.uk (please provide a phone number). Once a role is agreed book all people and vehicle passes. This is done by sending an email including all relevant info (confirming date of arrival, phone number, preferences, previous experience, special needs, number in your party to be crew) and buying all you passes online. Please only ever phone in "office hours". Crew passes are refunded at 2pm on Monday 16th August.
